With the mentee announcements for Pitch Wars fast approaching, I wanted to write a post about my post-PW plans for a lot of reasons. Reason 1: There is a huge chance I won’t be picked. Total bummer, but I’ve gotten pretty used to rejection in the writing world at this point, so I don’t think I’ll be too devastated. Reason 2: I’ve been having huge amounts of anxiety about not being picked that writing down my plans for post-PW will hopefully alleviate it! Maybe…
Without further ado, here are my plans for Post-Pitch Wars 2019 (if I don’t get picked):
- Continue querying MIDNIGHT AT THE NEON TIGER. I queried a little bit before entering the manuscript in Pitch Wars (think around 26 people). It garnered a few full requests and a bunch of rejections. So it goes.
- Start planning a new novel. I have so many ideas floating around in my head waiting to get out!
- More editing on NEON TIGER if querying doesn’t pan out. Maybe send out to more CPs and beta readers.
- DON’T GIVE UP
- Seriously, I have a horrible habit of giving up on everything I try because I feel like I’m not good enough. I’m vowing here on my blog that I WILL NOT GIVE UP THIS TIME.
And if I do happen to get picked, well…
I’ll definitely be shouting about it on here.
What are your post-Pitch Wars plans?
